Reclaim Yourself: Why We're Ditching "New Year, New You" to Put Ourselves First

by Sacha Strebe

Hello, MyDomaine readers! First of all, happy New Year. I hope that you all had a wonderful, relaxing break and are ready to kick off a stellar 2018. I think we can all agree that last year really tested us, but as with any challenge we're presented with, we aren't about to back down without a fight. In fact, it only made us that much stronger and, in the words of the acclaimed researcher and author Brené Brown, ready and willing to "brave the wilderness."

In that vein, we're thrilled to introduce our new Letter From the Editor video series, which outlines a different theme we're standing behind each month so you can see what we'll be covering in the weeks ahead. For January, our theme is "reclaim yourself," where we officially ditch the "new year, new you" cliché in favor of putting yourself and where you want to be first.

Watch my video above to hear more about this theme, and please let us know how you would like to see us embrace it in the comments.

I can't wait to hear from you!
