Architectural Digest recently announced the 2016 AD 100, a list of today’s most innovative and influential architects and decorators. Twenty-six of the people on the list are females. They include decorating grande dame Bunny Williams; the future dean of the Yale School of Architecture, Deborah Berke; and L.A.’s go-to gal for all things sophisticated and stylish, Kelly Wearstler. What’s interesting about the list is that many of the women are the only female at an all-male firm, and several work in partnership with their husbands. Only a handful, like Wearstler, stand alone. I’ve named 18 of the women who made the cut below, but to see the entire list, visit Architectural Digest.

  1. Alexandra Misczynski of Atelier AM
  2. Bunny Williams
  3. Mara Miller of Carrier and Company Interiors
  4. Pamela Shamshiri of Commune
  5. Elissa Cullman
  6. Deborah Berke
  7. Emily Summers
  8. Mariette Himes Gomez
  9. Isabel López-Quesada
  10. Jan Showers
  11. Kelly Wearstler
  12. Mica Ertegun of Mac II
  13. Madeline Stuart
  14. Alexa Hampton
  15. Susan Ferrier of McAlpine
