This Is How a Neurologist Lives—and We Want In

Sacha Strebe

We all know that eradicating the clutter improves our health, but Joel Salinas took it one step further. The Boston neurologist created a minimal bachelor pad with a serene ambiance that makes you feel as calm as it looks. Salinas worked with Homepolish designer Barbara Vail to transform the modern apartment into a stylish space with a zen vibe. Ensuring a serene home environment is crucial for Salinas who has a unique form of synesthesia (he can literally hear colors, feel sounds, and taste shapes), and his surroundings impact him both physically and emotionally.

"I really wanted to build a new home for myself, a nest so to speak," he told Homepolish. "I love the simplicity of the design, evoking a sense of peace while also leaving plenty of mental runway to think and create." We love the neutral tones throughout and that dreamy, light-filled bedroom is calling us.
