Tour the Inspiring Office of a Wedding and Lifestyle PR Firm
Leila Lewis, founder of Be Inspired PR (which represents a variety of stylish wedding industry and lifestyle brands), knows what it’s like to juggle building a business while nurturing a family. A mother of two, Lewis manages to keep it all together thanks to her expert team’s ability to increase awareness for hundreds of businesses on social media, television, magazines, and blogs.
On top of that, Lewis recently decorated her company’s office space to create a bright, cheery environment, anchored by classic pieces and accented by glamorous, feminine details. We recently sat down with Lewis to pick her brain on everything from the difficulties that come with starting your own business to how to design an office space that reflects your brand.

Prior to founding Be Inspired PR, Lewis was familiar with the territory, having worked in the wedding industry for years as well as holding roles in print media. “Companies would come to me asking me to help them market their wedding-based businesses and I became passionate about seeing others succeed,” she tells us. “I was told so many times that my business idea wouldn't work and that no one would hire us. So I did it anyway.”
A desire to promote small businesses while building her own motivated Lewis to continue to seek out opportunities, even when faced with challenges. “I heard the word ‘no’ a lot and had countless unreturned emails when I first started out,” Lewis says. “These challenges made me that much stronger in my quest to empower small businesses and get them into the spotlight.”
With time and persistence, Be Inspired PR took hold and grew. Lewis’s hard work and patience paid off enabling her to open a four-room office right in downtown Manhattan Beach, Calif., just a few blocks from the ocean.
For the office design, Lewis wanted a clean, classic aesthetic with interchangeable accessories that could easily be swapped out as tastes evolve. “I like to change out accessories like pillows, rugs, curtains, and picture frames every year or so to keep things fresh,” Lewis says. “But I don't have to completely start over because I had good basics to begin with.”
With pops of color and golden accents, the Be Inspired PR offices are perfectly festive while still maintaining a level of professionalism. “I want our guests to be both impressed and inspired!” Lewis says. “I find that personal style and office style can impact business style. I like my surroundings to look nice, but as a business owner, I wanted to create a functional space that wasn’t just about what looks cute.”
When asked for her advice to other creatives seeking to start their own businesses, Lewis recommends mastering communication fundamentals and remembering that you reap what you sow. “Communication is everything,” she says. “A good email can go a long way. Always address your email by name, check for typos, and be personable and warm in your tone. And remember, you get what you give! So take less and give more, and you will be rewarded far beyond what you expected.”
