This City Has the Most Tinder Matches During the Holidays
Thanksgiving is usually a time to spend with family and friends, but new data suggests that for many singles across America, it's also the perfect time to mingle. Dating app Tinder has released information that suggests the holidays might be one of the best times of the year for singles.
In 2015, there were more than 2.3 billion swipes during the Thanksgiving weekend. Of those swipes, over 17 million matches were made—that's a 23% increase. Yes, if you've ever toyed with the thought of a hometown romance, your odds of meeting your S.O. are far higher during the holidays.
Tinder sociologist Jess Carbino says a number of factors drive the surge in matches—and the likelihood of long-term compatibility. "People typically tend to be attracted to those with a similar demographic background—from age, occupation, education and more," she explains in a release. "Individuals who grow up in the same areas are more likely to have shared experiences, making home a great place for singles with similar values to connect."
Pack your bags—singles returning home to these cities have the best chance of finding love.
