11 Apps Our Editors Can't Live Without
We’re always on the hunt for the next life-changing app that makes so much sense and is so convenient that we can’t help but say, “Why didn’t I think of that?” To make sure we were up-to-date on the latest and greatest app innovations, we polled our own editors to find out what they’re addicted to these days. From laundry on-demand to in-home beauty treatments you can schedule on the fly, here are the apps our editors can’t stop using.
“I literally could not (OK, I'll rephrase that and say, ‘don't know how I would’) live without Postmates. The app delivers food from places that don't deliver—they send people out to pick up the food from those places and deliver it to you themselves. I use it four times a week. If only there was some kind of rewards program. There isn't yet, but that would be cool. Anything you could ever want—the world is your oyster with Postmates. When I'm craving a milkshake, boom, Postmates can deliver me one. It's amazing. The girls at the office use it all the time, too. Postmates is now a verb. ‘What are you going to Postmates for lunch?’, the question we ask each other every single day.”

“Spring is an app that let's you shop tons of really cool brands, plus it's super easy to checkout. It's pretty dangerous though, especially if you're an online shopping addict.”
– Jasmin Perez, Who What Wear Social Media Editor
“Glitché is perfect for getting super analog and artsy with your photos!”
– Mat Sanders, Domaine Creative Director
“Washio is so good! Expensive, but when you're in a pinch and just too busy to do laundry or dry cleaning, it's so easy and fast.”
– Alex Taylor, Clique Executive Director of Digital Strategy
“Kodak Kiosk makes printing photos from your phone so easy. The kiosks are located at Target and CVS stores—all you do is download the app, communicate with one of the kiosks through a closed Wi-Fi connection, select the photos on your phone you want to print, and the kiosks print them right there and then. So easy and makes transferring your favorite images from your phone to a photo frame so simple.”
– Liz Lynch, Domaine Senior Editor
“Slice keeps online orders and tracking numbers all in one place. It's linked to your email account, so you don't have to do any work!”
– Allyson Payer, Executive Assistant to Katherine Power
“I have used no other app as consistently as I use the Shazam app, which allows you to hold your phone up to the radio, a song playing in a store, at a party, etc., and find out what it is. Its library is seriously encyclopedic. Even better is the fact that Shazam and Rdio have some sort of genius partnership—if you so wish, songs you Shazam get automatically added to a designated Rdio playlist, so you can revisit your new discoveries easily. I have more than 800 songs on mine—800! I am constantly discovering new music this way, and it is really and truly a life-enriching luxury. Definitely beats writing down lyrics and then Googling them later (er, did anyone else do this as a kid?!).”
– Dana Covit, Domaine Market Editor
"The Glam App is essentially Uber for the beauty world—think on-demand hair styling, makeup services, and manicures delivered straight to your door. It allows you to choose from a wide range of experts and a curated selection of looks to suit any occasion. With wedding season right around the corner, this is sure to be my go-to."
– Jessica Baker, Entertainment Editor
"I have cash on me approximately five days out of the calendar year, so being able to pay for or split things with friends using Venmo is a godsend."
– Nicole Kleist, Who What Wear Senior Editor
"I've never been the type to stick to a workout regime long-term. My schedule always ends up getting in the way or I'll grow tired of a particular type of exercise, but Class Pass is the answer to all of my fitness prayers. For $99 a month you have your pick of fitness classes: cycling, yoga, Pilates, barre, boot camp, dance, and more. Take as many classes per month as you like and, if you want, you can try a different studio everyday. Oh, and if commitment isn't your thing, you can cancel at any time."
– Raleigh Seldon, Domaine Social Media Editor
“I use the Yelp app constantly to discover great restaurants and other businesses in my area, as well as to scope out menus, read reviews, and look up addresses, phone numbers, and other pertinent info. Yelp acquired delivery network Eat24 in February, so now you can actually order delivery straight from the app, too.”
