The One App Travel Insiders Swear By for Cheaper Flights

Kelsey Clark

For some, the idea of shelling out the hundreds if not thousands of dollars necessary to plan an A-list trip is enough for them to push pause on their travel bucket list. But with the sheer amount of travel apps, services, and websites now available to the masses, cost should never stand in the way of traveling the world—you should almost always be able to snag a discount flight to the destination of your dreams.

Case in point: the Hopper app, which has been touted by the likes of Travel + Leisure, Business Insider, Condé Nast Traveler, and MyDomaine's resident globe-trotter, Sophie Miura. Put simply, the app scans billions of flights and alerts users when prices are at their lowest point. Simply type in your date and destination, and Hopper will give you a list of day-to-day price projections. From there, you can wait for prices to lower and set a travel alert, or buy plane tickets straight from your phone.

With over 6000 reviews on iTunes, averaging four and a half stars, it's safe to say the app is a go-to resource for avid travelers. "I have a watch on all my bucket-list travels so I never miss a chance to getaway," said Instagram user and travel enthusiast @caillylynne of the Hopper app to MyDomaine. "It nudges me toward my next adventure."
