Beyoncé Is Investing in a Fruit Drink (and It's Not Lemonade)

We’re still reeling from the release of Beyoncé’s latest album, Lemonade, but the star has revealed she’s a fan of another fruit drink: watermelon water. According to Forbes, the singer has invested an undisclosed amount in Wtrmln Wtr, a low-calorie drink sold in Costco and Whole Foods stores. 

“This is more than an investment in a brand, it’s an investment in female leaders, fitness, American farmers, and the health of people and our planet,” Beyoncé said in a statement. The company’s female co-founders, Jody Levy and Harlan Berger, started the brand three years ago and say their annual revenue is poised to triple in year-over-year growth. 

This investment adds to the singer’s growing portfolio of brands and endorsements, including her recent athleisure line, Ivy Park. Forbes estimates Beyoncé made $54.5 million last year thanks to her smart off-stage business strategy.
