A Haute Hostel Opens in Venice
Hostel. The word is almost synonymous with "hit or miss" -- or at least it was in our youthful days. But such is not the case if you're checking into Generator Hostels, a coterie of low-cost, high-concept hostels and boutiques that's taking the traveling world by storm. The brand has just unveiled its newest location, Venice, and it might be the best thing to happen to the drowning city since Bellini. Set inside a converted 17th grain warehouse, the hostel features original wood-beamed cloister ceilings, stone pillars, and antique canteen tables juxtaposed with color-rich chintz wallpaper, Philippe Starck chairs, and neon lights that read "let's run away together." It's the ultimate display of Old-World-meets-New-World—and you can enjoy it for as little as 5€ a night.
Traveling to Europe anytime soon? Book a stay here or in one of Generator's Copenhagen, Hamburg, or Dublin locations. Paris and Rome will be added next year. Until then, head over to Yatzer to continue your tour.
