Tour Catt Sadler's Enviable Closet Suite
As you can imagine, being a host on E! News and co-host of E! News Weekend requires quite the wardrobe. Catt Sadler knows this well (see her myriad outfits on The Cattwalk). And so, when the closet of her 1950s Los Angeles home, which she shares with her husband and two sons, wasn’t living up to the challenge, she called on the help of California Closets. “She left much of her wardrobe at the studio since she had limited space at home,” says Chief Design Officer Ginny Snook Scott. “Therefore, we needed to focus on expanding her storage and maximizing the existing space.” By opening up the closet to the rest of the bedroom they were able to do just that.
The design of the closet works with that of the entire bedroom because of Sadler’s vision for the space. “In our bedroom I wanted something darker, sexier, more glamorous,” she says.
With the help of interior designer Jake Harrison, Sadler found the perfect light fixture to complete the closet. “We knew that the space needed a nice visual piece of candy, and that was it,” she says.
Although the shoe wall is Sadler’s gets all the glory, her island is in close competition. “The top drawer is just for jewelry,” she says. “So now I can open that drawer and lay everything out on top of the island. I can see how it all goes together — it’s become a creative space really.”
With brass details throughout her bedroom, Sadler had to decide on finishes for the closet. She went with a mahogany finish with silver detailing. “It makes it a little unconventional,” she says.
When asked if she has an easier time getting ready in the morning, Sadler replied: “It is night and day. I’m so busy with a full time job and two boys at home; my room would just get destroyed. I was always digging and pulling for items, and now everything has come together.”
