There’s nothing quite like that first sip of a crisp glass of white or a smooth red after a long day. Wine is an instant mood lifter—in moderation, of course—and it’s also good for your health. If you’re anything like us, though, your palette is refined, even if your budget isn’t. But just as our favorite drugstore beauty buys and much-loved high-street labels prove, quality doesn’t have to be expensive.
With the typical workweek extending beyond 50 hours, our life balance is officially out of whack, so why don’t you leave work early for a date with your local liquor store and grab one of these delicious wines for $20 or less? The price is low, but we assure you that the taste is high brow. Your credit card won’t hate you either.
Miraval Rosé ($20)
Who doesn’t love to drink in pink? If you do too, then we highly recommend Miraval, direct from the Côtes de Provence region of France. It’s a burst of fruity aromas with a refreshing acidity and dry finish. If you want to try something new, then give these seven delicious rosé cocktails a try to up your hosting game, or you could turn it into a frozé. Yum.
Frey Organic Pinot Noir ($20)
You can be certain that Frey, one of America’s largest and oldest organic vineyards, has perfected its flavor profiles after 30 years. This one is light and delicate with strawberry, mint, and pomegranate flavors. Frey’s sustainable practice makes you feel good while you’re drinking it too.
Toasted Head Chardonnay ($10)
We saved the best for last. This doesn’t look pretty, and it is insanely cheap (we’ve even found it for $8 in some places), but Toasted Head should never be underestimated. Made in the Dunnigan Hills of Yolo County, California, this chardonnay is creamy, oaky, and fruity with white peach and Asian pear. It’s so delicious.
