5 Tips for Maximizing Your Dorm Room Style
When it comes to decorating a dorm room, no one knows more than the experts at Dormify. Stephanie Hayman, Dormify’s main buyer, has shared five tips for making your dorm room stand out above the rest. From DIY art featuring your Instagrams to working with your green thumb, here are the best ways to make the new space your own.
If you are going to bring furniture into your space, make sure it can serve multiple functions. A pouf can be used as an ottoman, extra seating, and storage. Also, if you place a tray on top you've got yourself a nice coffee table.
Your closet is most likely too tiny to fit your whole wardrobe inside, so take your best pieces out and put them on display in your room. Your favorite shoes can go on a shoe rack or bookshelf, and scarves can hang from adhesive hooks on your wall. This will make room inside your closet and liven up your space.
Although covering up large empty walls can be a daunting task, wall decals, tapestries, and temporary wallpaper are a few easy ways to do it. Try wallpapering just one wall, only the entryway, or even just the ceiling.
Breathe life into your space by adding in actual living things. Choose something that’s easy to take care of like succulents or a self-watering planter.
Give your dorm room a personal touch with a few DIY projects. Since you can’t nail into the wall, frame posters with neon tape to give your room a nice pop of color. Also, try printing out your favorite Instagrams to make a collage on your wall.
