What Do Eames Chairs and Artichokes Have in Common?

Genevieve Fish

Perhaps the most popular and easily recognizable chair of the 20th and 21st centuries, the Eames chair is an American interior design staple. It has been copied and reimagined in countless forms since its inception in the 1950s, but Greek designer Spyros Kizis has taken its reinvention to the next level.

It has created the Artichair, an eco-friendly homage to the much-celebrated Eames chair, made entirely from artichokes. Yes, this 100% naturally derived interior design must-have uses a biodegradable plastic composed of the green vegetable. We think Spyros Kizis just changed the world for the better.

Head on over to Elle Decor for more details on the eco-friendly sensation.

Do you love the rustic charm of the Artichair as much as we do? Sound off in the comments below.
