Before and After: A Nondescript Kitchen Gets a Feminine-Chic Makeover
Though her kitchen was functioning for her needs perfectly fine, designer Vanessa Francis was feeling less than inspired by its aesthetics. Opting to take on what she refers to as a "redecoration project" the designer decided it was time to take her culinary space to another level using simple upgrades that combine to make a high-impact difference.
New subway tile, marble-look quartz counters, a range with a high-end look, and antique mirror inset cabinet panels make a massive difference in the bright white space. "I wanted the kitchen to look bright and have classic finishes," Francis tells us. "I love spaces that are understated and relatable but I also wanted to have a bit of a glam factor so I added the antique mirror to some of the upper cabinetry."
Perhaps the most eye-catching difference in the space is the new floral wallpaper, which adds a feminine vibe to the kitchen, but thanks to its black and white palette, keeps things from getting too sweet. "I love wallpaper and it works so well here," the designer shares. "To me, it adds that element of pretty."
