Gal Meets Glam Launches a Home Accessory Line for BaubleBar
Online jeweler BaubleBar is dipping its toes into the home décor world with a new collection of jewelry and home accessories created in partnership with blogger Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam. Comprised of bookends, coasters, planters, jewelry storage, and more, the line is ladylike and glamorous, much like Engel herself. Why the move into home décor? BaubleBar co-founder Daniella Yacobovsky tells us, “The single biggest question we get across all of our channels is around how to store jewelry beautifully. We wanted to create pieces that felt like an extension of BaubleBar, in that they are accessories for your home.”
Engel tells us she looked toward her own personal style for inspiration for this collection. “My style is already so defined, so it was easy for me to narrow down the narrative and the look I wanted to go for,” she says. “The collection overall is very feminine but classic and playful at the same time.” She also used a lot of geometric shapes in the designs, which reference jewelry pieces she designed for BaubleBar, as well. Since this was Engel’s first experience designing a collection with a brand, “it was incredibly important for everything to feel very authentic and cohesive,” she says.
When Yacobovsky heard that Engel was in the process of redesigning her San Francisco home, she says, “We really had that 'aha!' moment.” Engel brought the pieces to life as she styled them in her home. “My style and home décor tastes are completely intertwined,” Engel tells us. “My home and my closet are almost mirror images of each other.” In her own interiors, Engel tells us she loves mixing the old with the new. “I love to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit with at least one item in each room being especially unique,” she says.
So what’s next from BaubleBar? Is there more home décor to come? “We always say that we want to help you accessorize your life, in whatever form that takes,” Yacobovsky tells us. The brand’s recent successful collaboration with headphone maker FRENDS was a sign that people “really wanted to see more” in the lifestyle space. For now, it’s just wishful thinking, but we’re excited to shop the Gal Meets Glam collection.
