This Is What It Looks Like When a Fashion Editor Decorates a Home

Kelsey Clark

Fashion editor, street style star, and newlywed Giovanna Battaglia has recently put the finishing touches on her and husband Oscar Engelbert's Stockholm love nest. The couple has since settled into their newly renovated three-bedroom, four-bathroom flat following their lavish nuptials in Capri, Italy, this past June. Naturally, this was followed up by a Matthieu Salvaing-shot home tour for Architectural Digest's annual Style issue.

The couple reportedly forewent an interior designer or architect, instead relying on Engelbert's "visual savvy" as a real estate developer and Battaglia's enviable personal style to bring their art-filled vision to life. "The home is 100 percent a reflection of what we like and what we collect," said Engelbert to Architectural Digest's Derek Blasberg. "Every single piece has its history of where and when we bought it."

The end result is a vibrant, refined mashup of the two trendsetters' personal styles—her more robust and colorful, him more minimal and subdued. "It's been interesting to look at the evolution of my own aesthetic since I met Oscar," remarked Giovanna to Blasberg. "I used to think Oscar’s taste was too cold or too minimal, but I got caught up in his enthusiasm and passion, and now I really like it."
