These days, the corporate and startup landscape is awash with some pretty spectacular perks that go far beyond dental coverage. According to job-rating website Glassdoor, 57% of people surveyed listed benefits and perks among their top considerations when considering a job. If benefits are important to you, too, or you’re simply wondering how good some people have it, read on. Glassdoor compiled a list of some of the most extraordinary and unusual perks provided by 20 top employers.
Netflix offers a full year of paid maternity and paternity leave. Additionally, new parents are allowed to return part-time or full-time during that year and take time off as needed. Also worth noting: movie theaters, valet, and local shuttles to surrounding areas.
REI employees are encouraged to live a life inspired by the outdoor company’s credo. Two paid days off per year, called “yay days,” are on offer to enjoy their favorite outdoor activity.
The music streaming service offers new parents six months of paid parental leave plus one month of flexible work options for parents heading back to the office. The company also covers egg freezing and fertility assistance. On another note, Spotify hosts concert lunches, which regularly attract big-name talent.
Accenture Health Insurance, which prides itself on its commitment to LGBTQ rights, covers gender reassignment for its employees.
