These Are the 3 Healthiest Frozen Meals at Trader Joe's

Kelsey Clark

We're going to preface this with a disclaimer: We generally try to avoid eating frozen meals at all costs. But every once in a while, life practically demands a quick, easy, and (hopefully) healthy frozen dinner. For example, a pre-packaged stir-fry or a pre-made veggie burger makes sense after a 12-hour workday, when you've just run out of food and don't have time to go to the grocery store, or when your cooking skills have failed to mature along with the rest of you.

One study even suggests that there are nutritional benefits to going frozen; the researchers determined that those who eat frozen meals consume fewer calories and less saturated fat per day than those who turn to fast-service restaurants. While this is hardly a reason to abandon home cooking, not all frozen meals are created equal. Case in point: the frozen-food section at Trader Joe's, which is brimming with nutritionally balanced gems.
