The New Instagram Venture That's Shaking Up the Art World

banner_2 Instagram has taught all of us to sharpen our eye for composition, but now anyone with a handle has a chance at art-world fame. Instagram fanatic Phil González, who launched in 2011 to help users get the most out of their app experience, has teamed up with graphic designer Jorge Martínez to unveil a new gallery devoted to all things square and filtered. Located in Miami's art district, Instgramers Gallery (2324 North Miami Ave., Miami, FL) opened this month as place to promote photography exclusively in Instagram format. Users from around the world can upload their images to a virtual gallery to see and be seen daily (and to enter to win daily $1,000 "Photo of the Day" prizes), and the gallerists will hand-pick select photographs to be exhibited in the brick-and-mortar gallery on a rotating basis. Head here to learn more about the concept -- and start perfecting your cropping skills.
