This Is What It Looks Like When an Oscar-Nominated Actress Redecorates

Kelsey Clark

Jessica Chastain is an Oscar-nominated actress, a Cannes Film Festival veteran, and now a feature in Architectural Digest's October issue. The actress, a force to be reckoned with both on-screen and in the home décor department, graciously opened the doors to her and fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo's Victorian-style New York City apartment. The duo enlisted the help of critically acclaimed designers Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller prior to the reveal, assigning them the task of reinvigorating the 19th-century space. Green velvet Ralph Lauren sofas, opulent light fixtures, and vintage accent pieces proved to be just the ticket, giving the Upper East Side apartment what can only be described as a "warm and cozy glory," in Chastain's words. If their client's testimonial isn't any indication, Carrier and Miller certainly accomplished their goal of "breathing new life, glamour, and sophistication into the old girl," with "soul retrieval" being their ultimate end goal. "This home was built to be bold and beautiful, like its owner."
