Now You Know: This Is What Kayla Itsines Actually Eats in 24 Hours

It's not hard to see what 6.7 million people are obsessed with Kayla Itsines's every move. The 25-year-old Australian trainer seems to be the picture of health: She's penned a series of e-books called the Bikini Body Guides, launched her own fitness app called Sweat With Kayla, and continually shared jaw-dropping before-and-after pictures of people who follow her exercise routines. 

While most people scrutinize Itsines's daily fitness regimen, we were curious to find out about a different facet of her routine: her diet. After all, multiple studies suggest that what you eat, and how often, is the key factor in weight loss—possibly more so than exercise. So what does one of the top celebrity trainers actually eat to shape up?

Itsines spoke to StyleCaster to share her daily routine, and, well, we were pretty surprised. Here's exactly what a celebrity trainer eats in one day.

 

Breakfast

Itsines wakes up at 5:30 a.m. every morning and jumps on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Then, she whips up a hearty, healthy breakfast consisting of poached eggs on toast with lemon, avocado, baby spinach, and tomato. The trainer doesn't avoid carbohydrates in the morning and opts for rye toast to fuel her body. 

 

Lunch

For lunch, she has homemade chicken "yiros," "a wholemeal wrap with chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and homemade tzatziki, made with cucumber, greek yogurt, garlic and olive oil," StyleCaster explains. Mid-afternoon, she reaches for fruit for a healthy, natural sugar fix. She nibbles on mango but admits that tiramisu is her guilty pleasure. 

 

Dinner

Itsines opts for another Greek favorite later in the day: avgolemono chicken soup. Made with just five ingredients, the lemon broth soup is high in protein, thanks to chicken and eggs.
