Our Unsolicited Makeover of Kendall Jenner's $6M Home
Kendall Jenner recently enlisted the help of Million Dollar Decorator Martyn Lawrence-Bullard for the remodel of her new $6.5 million–dollar home in the Hollywood Hills—so we know she's in good hands. The famed decorator previously worked on sisters Kourtney and Khloé's houses before taking on the latest Kardashian-Jenner project. But while we know Lawrence-Bullard will certainly come up with a masterpiece of his own, we couldn't help but imagine what the house would look like ourselves.
The $6.5 million dollar property, which previously belonged to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, is nestled in the Hollywood Hills, right above the celeb hotspot Château Marmont. The brief she gave Lawrence-Bullard: a modern vibe with vintage finds. "The most important thing is that I want everyone who comes over to be able to chill and vibe out," she told her followers. Challenge accepted—here is how we would make over the three-story manse, the MyDomaine way.
Jenner mentioned she was most excited about her pool: "Swimming was something I did so much as a kid and really haven't had that many opportunities to jump in anymore. I've now swam almost every day I've been here—and at night, too (THE best!!!)," she shares with her readers.
For her poolside, we imagined only the best: striped banquettes, double lounge chairs, honeycomb tiles, and stylish sun shades to protect from nasty UV rays.
Her living room is large and full of light, kind of like this Commune-designed Paris apartment, but the latter feels a lot more Jenner-esque. On the wish list: sculptural chandeliers, modern furnishings, and patterned rugs. It's the perfect NY-meets-L.A. look Jenner is known for.
This bright kitchen might have been perfect for Blunt and Krasinski, but it's too vanilla for our young downtown gal. We're dreaming up something a little more dark and edgy, with statement pendant lights, navy tiles, and a pantry ladder—so she can be as organized as her older sister.
For the dining room, we're going full model-off-duty look. We think the geometric glass-paneled walls would complement the kitchen particularly well. The most important: a long table to accommodate the entire Kardashian clan.
In the TV room, we'd love to see a stark black-and-white palette—one that Jenner is known to adopt in her wardrobe. Mixed with iconic midcentury furniture and warm wood accents, it's the type of room you'd want to lounge around in all day.
For the powder room, we thought her guests would appreciate a pampering station when they come over to "vibe." Integrated speakers and a signature scent are, of course, a must.
Her master bedroom is without a doubt stunning, but the current styling lacks edge—something Jenner has perfected in her street style. We're imagining a full rock-'n'-roll vibe for her master suite: a mix of vintage pieces, edgy art, and an oversize statement bed.
And, of course, the fashion icon would need a very large, color-coordinated closet—all in tones of black, white, and blush pink.
Who wouldn't want to soak in that master bath tub? While we would take this bathroom any day, we think Jenner's bathroom should be more contrasted. Imagine this black-and-white space with chic but streamlined luxe accents: Aésop essentials, a couple of vases, and a minimalistic bench.
For the guest bedroom, we picked a slightly more subdued vibe. What if the Kardashian matriarch stayed over? It needed a more approachable feel, while still keeping a bit of an edge.
Her office isn't bad as is, but with Lawrence-Bullard being a true lacquer fan, we hope he'd go bold and beautiful in this space with wood-paneled walls and a lipstick red lacquered ceiling. If there's one room to go wild in, it's this one.
Last but not least, we think Jenner is at the perfect age to start building her art collection—and what better way to start than with Gia Coppola's photography taken from the Chateau Marmont—the very one she can walk to from her house? We bet she has a pretty similar view.
