Lacking a green thumb but need some of the great outdoors in your indoor space? Don’t let Mother Nature fool you—not all indoor plants are fickle! Try keeping one of these 10 easygoing potted plants in your apartment or at your work desk (yes, tiny potted plants are allowed!), and be green with envy no more.
Don't have much bright sunlight in your apartment? Neither does the forest floor, so—lucky for you!—many low-growing plants, like this maidenhair fern, can thrive without much direct light.
A variety of succulent that needs minimal water and attention, aloe plants look right at home in tiny individual pots dotting your windowsill (and maybe one day saving your sunburn!).
Looking for greenery that's exotic and elegant but doesn't require a specialized tropical climate to grow? Try an orchid that will thrive in indirect light and only needs to be "watered" with a single ice cube a week (seriously!).
No matter what variety you choose (though we're partial to colorful grafted cacti), these babies are "it" when it comes to minimal-effort indoor greenery—some only need to be watered every couple months!
So called "air plants" get their name from the fact that—you guessed it—they can basically survive on air alone. Try keeping yours in a pretty brass terrarium and misting monthly to keep it hydrated.
