These Are the Top 20 Most Expensive Neighborhoods for Renters

One of the things that San Franciscans love to talk about is the atrocious cost of rent. Studios with out-of-date kitchens and tiny closets are being listed for more than $2000 per month. It’s so insane that when I saw a Business Insider story about the most expensive zip codes in the nation, I immediately clicked it, worried that my neighborhood would be listed. Luckily, it’s not, but some of San Francisco’s more exclusive areas are on the list. Data was collected from apartment buildings—that have at least 50 rental units—by real estate site RentCafe who used then used the data to come up with the list. I was surprised that rent in New York is still more costly than in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. Wondering where it will cost you the most to rent an apartment in the U.S.?
