Nate Berkus Shares His Holiday Gift Guide (and It's Good)
Melanie Acevedo/Trunk Archive
We seek him out for interior insights, career advice, and renovation mistakes to avoid, but Nate Berkus is also one of our favorite tastemakers—have you seen his best-selling Target collection? With the festive season around the corner, we asked the celebrity designer to share his holiday gift guide. Because stocking up early is key for keeping it stress-free. "Be prepared," he told MyDomaine. "Stock up on snacks, top up your bar cart, and make sure those napkins are pressed. That way, when people show up at your door, you're ready."
Berkus, husband Jeremiah Brent, and daughter Poppy only relocated from New York to L.A. this year, and family time is on his wish list for their first holiday season on the West Coast. "That's really what it's all about," he said, "and taking a moment to be grateful for what you have. That is really important too. Poppy is that much older and a lot more aware, so it's all about the new traditions we're creating as a family. That's very special to me."
Ahead, Berkus shares his top 12 gifts for the holidays. Warning: You'll want all of them for yourself.
Marla Aaron Rose Gold Twisted Series Lock on a Green Gold Hard Hook Bracelet ($4023)
"I love Marla's original designs; from this bracelet to her charm boxes, they're so handsome and chic. This is the perfect mix of metals, but you can find something for everyone on your list, whether it's your siblings, extended family, or your best friend."
"I'm obsessed with Monica's jewelry. I want everything in the collection. But if you can't swing one of her stunning charms, her book is the next best thing. The idea of 'objects having meaning' and why we cherish them really resonates with me. This is perfect for a co-worker or girlfriend."
Nate Berkus for Target Tripod Candleholders Set of 2 ($18)
"I love how sculptural and elevated these candleholders feel. They're so on point for the holidays, but they'll also look great come the New Year and spring. That's always the trick with home accessories; they need to live beyond a season. Things should be able to have a place in your home year-round."
The Laundress Spring Cleaning Set ($78)
"I'm beyond obsessed with cleaning and organizing, so why shouldn't your cleaning products be chic and elevated? This is a great gift pack for a newly married couple or someone you know keeps a beautiful home (or wants to keep one). This is exactly what everyone will want come the New Year."
AccompanyUs Be Home Horn Tumblers Set of 2 ($48)
"I love everything that AccompanyUs stands for, and their home items make gorgeous gifts. So unexpected. These horn tumblers (you have to read the story about where they come from) can be used as tumblers, but also double as a hold-all for makeup brushes or a penholder on your desk."
Lobstabox Gift a Taste of New England Gift Box ($170)
"Okay, so full disclosure: I do not eat seafood. But what a great gift for someone who does? Lobsters from New England are definitely a thing, and plenty of people will be thrilled to receive a lobster food box for the holidays. I'm thinking a brother or a boyfriend."
What's on your holiday wish list? Will you be buying any of Berkus's picks?
