National Geographic's 2016 Photo Contest Entries Are Pure Magic

We caught wind of the 2016 entries to National Geographic’s annual Travel Photographer of the Year contest, and oh, are they magic.

Offering epic views of cityscapes, stunning portraits of people, and awe-inspiring captures of landscapes near and far, these photos are the type to make you desperately want to ditch you day job and become a professional adventurer. But whether or not that lifestyle is in the cards for you, these photos promise to give you a taste of our very special world and all the wonders it contains.

The winner of the contest, crowned 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year, will also win a seven-day polar bear safari, so hop to it. The contest goes through May 27.
