Inside an Architect’s Luxurious New York Home
At first glance, this New York home is warm and stylish with a classic façade, but delve beneath the surface and it's so much more than meets the eye. The four-year renovation by Steven Harris Architects needed an entire team to create the basement pool, wine cellar, gym, and workshop of this eight-storey home. It's the hidden features—every air-conditioner diffuser grill is bespoke—and the unusual materials—the kitchen drawer glides are made of wood—that set this home apart. “It isn’t just what the home looks like,” Harris says. “It’s how it operates and feels, how things open and close and move."
