Inside a PR Agency's Glam Office Makeover
When Bryanne Lawless launched her PR agency, BLND, in 2013, the office had major "pink vibes" with a "girly" aesthetic. But as the company grows along with her client base, Lawless needed a more sophisticated look and an open-plan design that encouraged creativity. So she tapped Laurel & Wolf designer Luca Pepitone to create a minimal space that not only enhanced productivity but sparked fresh ideas. The end result is a slick, bleached-out space with just a touch of blush pink this time. Even BLND's storage space is stylish.
"For us, creativity is often sparked by bouncing ideas off of each other," said Lawless. "More often than not we’re working on projects as a team or brainstorming new ideas together, so having an open space for everyone to comfortably work together encourages creativity and fresh ideas." Ahead, Lawless explains the design process and styling behind the space.
"The office was gorgeous and most clients loved it, but it also was extremely girly and we wanted to show our growth in the new office design," she said. "This is a much more sophisticated look with the incorporation of fresh greens and pops of blush pink."
"The biggest challenge was storage space," she said. "We’re constantly receiving client samples and leftover products from events that accumulate in the office. Keeping everything organized and put away properly to keep our space uncluttered is definitely an ongoing challenge we face."
"The new aesthetic really pushes the sophistication of BLND as well as our fun nature," she said. "We get work done with fresh ideas, open minds, and bright space. Our team loves the collaborative work environment, and this office has really upped our game."
"The fresh air from the outside patio is amazing and makes us feel like we are out enjoying the ocean breeze, even when sometimes we are stuck in the office all day," she said. "The conference table in the middle is wonderful and much more efficient for our larger meetings."
"We really utilize every piece of space we have," she said. "We had choices of much bigger spaces, but I really like having a smaller space as I am a very involved business owner and like to overhear and know everything that is going on in the office on any given day."
