Boundless Inspiration From Pantone's Color of the Year

Peter Dolkas
Colors fade in and out of style, and there's one that's certainly en vogue: Radiant Orchid. Pantone has just announced the shade as its Color of the Year for 2014. We're already seeing the plum-like color used in the most alluring settings. Rich, deep, and a bit enigmatic, it's also a shoo-in for cozy fall and winter palettes. Velvets, crushed velvets, and glossy paints give it a glamorous, jewel-toned effect, while wallpapers, such as in Oslo's Grand Hotel, can create depth and movement. Perhaps our favorite attribute of the hue is that it makes an elegant pairing for furniture and bright accents in shades of orange and green. See below to shop our picks of plum décor and peruse our favorite paints.
