Facebook's Favorite Interview Question Is a Total Curveball
Look de Pernille
Whether you're still addicted to Facebook or not, there's no denying that the tech industry powerhouse continues to set the bar for not only innovation but also for bringing in top-tier talent the company actually treats quite well, too.
Sitting down with Facebook's global head of recruiting, Miranda Kalinowski, Business Insider set out to find out just how Facebook continues to bring in such stellar candidates. Kalinowski revealed that there is one go-to interview question that can fairly quickly sort out if it's a good (even great) match. It's not your typical query.
"On your very best day at work—the day you come home and think you have the best job in the world—what did you do that day?"
With this question, Kalinowski shares that the interviewer is looking to learn something about the candidate's passions, sources of pride, and priorities, all things that give clues as to how engaged they might be on the job. Engaged employees mean great professional output, and we all know that great work on a person-to-person scale is what builds to produce a truly great company.
Something good and thought-provoking to ponder before your next interview, to be sure.
