Inside a Top Fashion Blogger's Elegant Baby Shower
We were delighted when Rachel Parcell—the powerhouse fashion blogger behind Pink Peonies who also just launched her own jewelry line—invited us to peek in on her feminine and elegant baby shower hosted at her Salt Lake City-area home. The ladylike affair featured a palette of soft pinks and ivories, enlivened by gentle touches of more saturated pink tones and pops of gleaming gold.
"The inspiration for the color scheme stemmed from the nursery: soft pinks with gold accents," Parcell says. "From there, we added in more pops of pink." Always unique, Parcell even coordinated the décor to her outfit: "We added one flower in particular because the color perfectly matched the color of the shoes I purchased specifically for the shower!"
The party was small affair of 25 of Parcell's closest friends and family. "We just wanted an intimate setting where we could enjoy each other's company," she says.
"We wanted the décor to feel fresh and feminine," says Parcell. White china from Kate Spade was paired with gold flatware and ivory linens for a fresh, timeless look for the tables.
Bountiful floral arrangements—some in the same containers used at Parcell's wedding—covered almost every surface, including a show-stopping garland adorning the mantle.
Expecting a girl, Parcell was able to stay true to her own entertaining aesthetic when it came to designing the party. "I always have a feminine undertone whether in my personal style or my home décor style," she says.
Tomato basil soup and mini grilled-cheese sandwhiches were served with a spring-inspired tortellini salad. A three-tied cake was the centerpiece of the dessert table.
