Restaurant to Room: Farmshop by Commune
For fans of Santa Monica's Farmshop, take this as your first official warning: You need to start planning a road trip. Jeff Cerciello and Kira Cunningham have established their second restaurant right up the coast in Marin County, and it's not just the food that makes us want to hightail it to the Bay. The duo have once again collaborated with the design creatives at Commune to create new digs that manage to feel sleek and modern, but still produce a warm vibe. Wall to Wall: Farmshop's walls are as varied as its menu: in some areas covered in gleaming emerald Heath Ceramics tiles, or painted in neutral, rich natural tones, or filled by an arresting photographic mural by photographer, Pirkle Jones, the different treatments come together to bring texture and depth to the unique space. All in the Details: From the gorgeous 50-foot long bar with a top created by sculptor Alma Allen to custom light fixtures strung on chains from lighting designer Robert Lewis and the dramatic hearth on view in the open kitchen to the chic lounge furniture by Michael Boyd and Trip Carpenter, Farmshop has some real, palpable character. Whether you're able to pop in to reward your senses in person or prefer to admire this space from afar, we've put together a shoppable collection of goods that will help you bring a little bit of this Marin gem to your own home. Sorry, fried eggplant not included.
