The Spice Girls' "Wannabe" Gets a Feminist Makeover You Don't Want to Miss
It's been 20 years since the Spice Girls changed our lives with their hit single "Wannabe," and today, the 1990s classic is taking "girl power" to a whole new level. The Global Goals Campaign recently parodied the iconic music video, touching on some serious issues beyond female friendship and autonomy within relationships.
From ending violence against women to closing the gender pay gap, the new video serves as a call to action for women around the world, asking, "What do you really, really want?" The video proclaims that while girl power has come a long way, it's time to take it even further.
You can join the movement by sharing a photo using the hashtag #WhatIReallyReallyWant, and the Global Goals Campaign will share your thoughts with world leaders at the United Nations in September.
So, what do you really, really want? Watch the full video below, and support the women's organization of your choice on GlobalGoals.org.
