Starbucks's New Frappuccino May Be Its Strangest One Yet
It feels like with each passing day, Starbucks unveils a new liquid concoction ready to take the internet by storm. The latest such Instagram-ready delight is a coffee jelly Frappuccino, which comes courtesy of Starbucks Japan.
The beverage features the country’s popular jellies at the bottom of the drink. They’re made from Starbucks’s very own roast espresso blend and are dispersed in three separate layers. The drink also includes vanilla custard and comes with an oversize straw that should make slurping up those delicious jellies a cinch.
While the drink may not be as eye-catching as the pink and purple drinks from Starbucks’s secret menu, the coffee jelly Frappuccino has proven to be a huge hit on social media. The official tweet announcing the arrival of the beverage has shared over 28,000 times.
If you happen to find yourself in Japan between July 2 and August 31, the triple decker frap will retail for 590 yen, which comes out to a little under $6 USD. Oh, and while you’re there, be sure to check out some of that Japanese sushi we’ve been hearing so much about. Word on the street is it’s pretty good.
Send your friends in Japan a Starbucks gift card and have them report back. If this drink comes to the States, would you try it?
