Want a Social Life and Career? This Is Where You Should Move

Sophie Miura

While salary and career progression are often top of mind for job searchers, a new Glassdoor study indicates there’s one key area we don’t consider enough: work/life balance. The employer review and data site compiled a list of the best places to live where residents claim to have mastered the elusive mix of a social life and rewarding career—with the salaries to prove it. Surprisingly, one U.S. coast dominated the list, and major cities like Los Angeles and New York didn’t make the cut. The top three places to move for a life and career in 2016 are…

  • Number of Job Openings: 61,038
  • Median Base Salary: $112,000
  • Median Home Value: $956,500

2. San Francisco, California
