You Can Now Charter a Private Helicopter to Coachella, Thanks to Uber

Sophie Miura

Attention Coachella-goers: Uber just made an announcement that is going to make you want to cancel your festival transportation immediately. The company has partnered with Blade to add a luxe new addition to their service fleet—helicopters. Coachella fans based in Los Angeles or Orange County can book a private helicopter on UberChopper and arrive at the festival in less than an hour. Yes, it'll take less time to get there than it does prepare your outfit.

So, how does it work? On the day, Uber will send an SUV to collect you and up to five friends. Your driver will then take you to a lounge at Van Nuys Airport, where you'll be treated to celebratory drinks at the Casamigos Tequila open bar before boarding your private Airbus EC-130 helicopter. You'll take in the stunning views of California from the sky before touching down at Indio Blade Desert Lounge, where an SUV will be waiting to shuttle you to Coachella.

All in all, the service costs $4170 one way or $695 per person if you share the cost with five friends. Just make a reservation on your Uber app, and they'll follow up with more information. Who knew arriving at Coachella could be just as fun as the festival itself?
