Step Into the Smallest and Most Charming Cottage Ever
Designer and creative director Whitney Leigh Morris recently opened up her Venice, California home to One Kings Lane to share her tips on customizing even the smallest of spaces. After looking at over 30 homes, Morris and her fiancée settled on the Craftsman-style cottage because of it's desirable location on the Venice canals and it's proximity to the trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Chock full of small space solutions and smart storage ideas, the "Tiny Canal Cottage," as Morris refers to it, is a bright, neutral, and breezy California dream.

The living room's built-in sofa features storage cubbies and with a quick swap of the coffee table for a dining-height alternative, also serves as a banquette at meal time.
Across from the sofa a thin metal-frame chair serves as a spot to get some work done while taking up little visual space. A sizable wall mirror reflects and enlarges the room. “Whenever we take it down to clean it, we realize what a difference it makes,” Morris told OKL.
Utilizing the walls for utensil storage and displaying decorative white dish-ware on the open shelves allows the small kitchen to be both beautiful and functional.
Bookshelves surround the home's built-in bed and cut outs on the sides provide convenient access to nightstand essentials.
The home's fresh patio space increases the useable area for indoor/outdoor living and makes for the perfect spot for entertaining.
