Whitney Port’s Guide to Surviving Fashion Month
Fashion week is a super-fun time of year filled with innovative creativity, parties galore, and, moreover, running around like crazy trying to see everything! To prepare myself for this time year, I've gathered a list of my necessities to get through the whirlwind. Read on below for my must-haves.
I rely heavily on hydration to keep me motivated throughout long days. If I am dehydrated or hungry, that’s it; I am done for! I love the idea of Pressed Juicery delivery because it is an organized way of snacking without having to constantly think about when your next hit of food is.
I absolutely hate cab rides! They make me nauseous, and I am constantly counting the seconds until I reach my destination. However, I have found a quick solution to help calm the nerves and the belly during these roller coaster rides: big noise-canceling headphones! The music allows you to calm down, forget where you are, and just enjoy the ride. I especially love these BaubleBar ones because they have that hint of glitz that will go with any fashion week look.
No matter what heels I’m wearing, they are never comfortable—especially when I need to wear them all day long, running from show to show. The key to being prepared for this inevitable pain is carrying Band-Aids! I found these super-cute black leather ones that act like a chic body accessory and don’t look messy like the nude or printed ones.
This spray is the key to looking fresh and feeling lively during a long day of shows! Not only will it make your skin look illuminated, but it will also give you a little kick of energy.
Okay, okay. I must admit Band-Aids aren’t the only key to comfy feet. A pair of cute flats in your tote is a lifesaver. I love these Madison Harding ones because even if I get photographed with them on, they are still super cute!
Fashion week is filled with super-tight quarters. There are lines and crowds everywhere. It’s also hot this time of year, no matter where you are! I like to bring this scent with me wherever I go to keep my scent game on point! I do not want to be one of those people who are known for smelling bad!
