The World's Most Expensive Dinner Comes With a Blue Diamond
Luxury reaches bold new heights in what’s being billed as the “world’s most expensive dining experience.” Put together by the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore and Russian diamond company World of Diamonds, the 18-course, two-person meal costs a whopping $2 million.
It begins with a 45-minute helicopter ride above Singapore’s shimmering skyline, followed by a pit stop aboard an ultra-luxe cruise. The lucky duo is then chauffeured—in a Rolls-Royce, of course—to Ce La Vi, the restaurant atop the hotel, for dinner. And while diners will be fed opulent items like Belon oysters, Almas caviar, and 55-year-old vintage wines, these indulgences aren’t the reason for the hefty price tag.
Not only will the diners be gifted with 10,000 roses to go along with their extravagant meal (which will be eaten with diamond-studded chopsticks), but they’ll also be presented with a 2.09-carat blue diamond ring named after actress Jane Seymour. Mashable points out that similar diamonds are extremely rare and have been sold for over $2 million in the past.
Not many people on the face of the earth can afford to blow that kind of cash in a single night, which is why organizers are carefully screening interested parties.
