About Us

Who We Are

We believe that decorating your home should be fun but we also know how daunting—and costly—it can be.

That’s why, in 2013, we created MyDomaine, one of the leading home design and lifestyle sites on the internet. Each month, our extensive library of more than 12,000 articles reaches 2.5 million readers. Our mission: to democratize design and make the aspirational truly achievable. With our curated inspiration and advice, we believe you can have a designer home, a magazine-worthy dinner party, and a restaurant-quality home-cooked meal without paying through the roof for it.

Our writers and editors have worked with the design industry’s leading brands, including West Elm, IKEA, CB2, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and Anthropologie, as well as celebrity designers such as Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, Emily Henderson, and Athena Calderone. We’re tastemakers who hand pick tips and products from a place of honesty and experience. We seek diverse points of view from industry experts to provide inspiration that’s applicable to your own life and home.

MyDomaine—life, elevated.

Editorial Guidelines

When we’re not at our desks writing the content you love, we’re discovering the next big things by meeting with top interior designers, connecting with the heads of your favorite brands, attending leading design events, and joining forces with industry authorities—all to bring you original news, breakout trends, practical tips, and inspiration within the home and design space.

That’s how you know MyDomaine is a reliable source with a commitment to integrity, authenticity, and quality. Our writers take pride in creating original, well-researched content in a respectful, honest, and fair tone. We pride ourselves on accuracy, checking the facts and backing up new claims with leading experts.

Each month, we update MyDomaine’s extensive content library to ensure that promise is upheld. If you notice something that doesn’t seem up to date, please let us know by emailing us at contact@mydomaine.com.

Like most publishers, our editors are often sent products or offered discounted services for review. This does not influence their coverage on MyDomaine but transparency is paramount to building trust so we will always disclose this in our coverage where applicable.

Our product reviews are independent and based on research and product testing — if you visit links within our content, we may receive commissions from your purchases, but we never receive any compensation or consideration for the content of our recommendations.

My Armadillo & Co. rug. I never truly knew the power of an area rug until we had to roll it up for a few weeks while puppy training our French Bulldog. The entire room felt bare and lifeless with our cold concrete flooring. We finally put it back down and everything feels cohesive and warm again.

Sacha Strebe

Editorial Director

Sacha started at MyDomaine as a lifestyle editor in 2015.

Before that, the Los Angeles-based Australian native was a newspaper journalist at the Gold Coast Bulletin working in the news and fashion features departments where she oversaw their weekly fashion magazine. I never get tired of looking at my set of ‘70s orange-and-chrome Steelcase Max Stacker chairs, which I got for $5 per piece at a garage sale when my husband and I were furnishing our first Brooklyn apartment. They look great at our dining room table.

While not the most showy or trendy piece, I have an affinity for the trio of photos my husband and I took at Rocky Mountain National Park, which hang above our bed. They were taken years ago on a crappy camera, but it doesn't bother me that they're pixelated—the memories are crystal clear.

She was later brought on as a writer for StyleCaster and Buzzfeed before starting as an associate editor at Byrdie. Her writing has also appeared in Women’s Health and on Yahoo. A Brooklyn resident by way of upstate New York, she graduated with a BS in Sociology from Binghamton University and a Master’s in Social Work from Monmouth University.

A set of molded plywood Eames chairs. They always remind me of my first date with my boyfriend, almost a decade ago, because we sat on them eating cold pizza and talking about music all night.
