When it comes to anti-aging, we often find ourselves taking advice from celebrities who have the best estheticians, nutritionists, and makeup artists on speed dial. But every once in a while, the internet uncovers a seemingly ageless superhuman who uses the same skincare tools available to us mere mortals. Enter Lure Hsu, a 41-year-old Taiwanese interior designer who doesn't look a day over 21.
While genetics obviously play an instrumental role in Hsu's youthful appearance, Harper's Bazaar recently reported on the designer's skincare regimen, as she originally told to Friday magazine. Unsurprisingly, sunscreen, diet, and regular moisturizing are the three main tenets of her routine. "Everything is [about] simply moisturizing well and not over-exposing yourself to sun," said Hsu. Protecting your skin from the sun damage is the most important thing to Hsu, as "sunned skin is drier and make[s] small spots and small fine lines easier to appear."
Hsu's healthy diet probably doesn't hurt either. The designer reportedly drinks black coffee and tons of water, fills up primarily on fruits and vegetables, limits meat intake, and eschews sugary snacks and greasy food altogether. For her, it's all about high fiber, high protein, and regular exercise. While Hsu's routine is far from secretive, perhaps the biggest takeaway is to protect your skin from the sun. Applying sunscreen regularly can actually reverse signs of aging and improve the texture, clarity, and pigmentation of your complexion.
Pick up an everyday sunscreen to keep in your purse, and share your thoughts on Hsu's routine below.
