Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason are the dynamic duo behind the interior design blog and home product line, AphroChic, and cover interior design for The Spruce and MyDomaine. Covering home décor products inspired by cultures around the globe, AphroChic proves that ethnic heritage and culture can go hand in hand with the luxurious and the modern.
Their pillow collection was on the 2010 California Home + Design Hit List, celebrating the best in California design. Hays also contributes regularly as a design expert for HGTV, the DIY Network, SMP Living, and participated as an online guest judge for the 2010 season of HGTV’s Design Star.
Their unique style and brand has achieved considerable recognition. As an example, the duo converted a 3,000 square foot warehouse space at the the Helms Bakery District in Los Angeles, into a loft-style home. This pop-up house was the first African American concept home ever presented on the west coast.
Janine Hays is an attorney with a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
Bryan Mason has a Master of Arts degree in African studies from University of California at Berkley.
The two have co-authored the book REMIX: Decorating with Culture, Objects and Soul.
