When we stumbled upon the home of Norwegian photographer Margrethe Myhrer on Desire to Inspire, we felt a pang of envy. A concrete kitchen! Wood beams! Original photography! After a further look, we realized what we truly loved most about the space was its amazing use of dead space. With thought and care, Myhrer and her family had transformed nooks and crannies into useful and stylish spaces. Attics and other empty areas under the home's pitched roof were turned into full-bedroom lofts with beautiful styling and library ladders, or used for extra storage space. The tiniest balcony became the coziest living area thanks to a built-in bench, a few plants, and a mélange of pillows.
