I know I’ve mentioned it before, but finding me time has proved to be key when it comes to juggling life. And while there never really is a perfect balance, allowing ourselves to step back and have those little breaks can put a lot of things in perspective. I think better, sleep better, and even interact better with people when I’m diligent about checking in on my stress levels.
Lately I’ve been all about cashing in on some quiet time with a steamy bath. I go to bed completely relaxed and sleepy, and it’s become the ultimate midweek pick-me-up. and Sunday night ritual before the chaos begins. Aside from getting a dose of inner tranquility, bath time lends itself to some pampering beauty products too, which can work better when there’s heat involved—win, win. Here’s my routine as of late…
First and foremost, dim the lights, light a candle, and spritz some lavender spray. You’d be amazed how just making the room calmer can be even more meditative. Then I fill a bath with some of my favorite salts and essential oils—usually lavender or eucalyptus. I use a body brush (enhances circulation) and coat my skin in oil before hopping in. This is the ultimate time for a mask of some sort, this one by Chantecaille has been a recent favorite. Then I relax, quiet my brain, and unwind. The first thing I reach for afterward is a giant, cozy robe to curl up in.
