There’s more to a coffee shop than a delicious drink. Don’t get us wrong—a perfectly crafted latte is a must, but equally important, at least to this editor, is the aesthetic (hello, Instagram feed). It’s downright essential if you spend a lot of time at said cafés. At this very moment, we’re working on this piece at Coffee Commissary. (Does that make this an IRL Instagram inception?) In any case, we’ve compiled our 12 favorite L.A. coffee shops that not only offer an amazing selection of coffees, food, and pastries but also are beautifully decorated with your feed in mind. Ahead, find 12 of best Instagram-worthy coffee shops in L.A. Influencers and food bloggers would agree.
Eightfold’s Carrara marble countertops and tables are perfect for flat-lay shots. The gorgeous, all-white-everything café serves daily pastries, and drinks including matcha lattes, iced coffees, and a selection of Clover Juice. Added bonus? The Rooster Truck, Amaze Bowls, and Yeastie Boys Bagels are often parked out front. That’s an Instagram win-win.

Food bloggers, take note: Coffee Commissary in Burbank has a full kitchen and serves some seriously Instagram-worthy dishes, like a brisket burrito bowl (our favorite) prepared with lettuce, potatoes, brown rice, avocado, cheddar, pico de gallo, and sunny eggs. The location also offers weekend brunch including Benedict avocado and Southern fried chicken biscuits. If you save room for dessert, try the salted caramel Rice Krispies treat or—trust us—grab it go. Brace yourselves: A fifth Coffee Commissary with a full kitchen will open in Glendale this summer. If it has the major industrial vibes that this interior has, then you can count us in!

Carrera Café’s Instagram speaks for itself. Influencers like Marianna Hewitt, Angelica Blick, and Chelsea Lankford of True Lane frequent the West Hollywood café. Located across the street from Paul Smith’s pink wall, Carrera Café is known for its custom latte art. Use the Coffee Ripples app to upload any photo from your phone, create your own text, choose from existing quotes, and more. The European-inspired café also serves sandwiches, salads, and sides.

Verve Coffee Roasters
Verve has a few locations across L.A. (we are obsessed with the living wall downtown), not to mention it’s chapters across the state and reaching as far as Tokyo. The interior is just as Instagrammable as the delicious coffee. We love the light-filled midcentury-modern vibes of the Melrose location. In addition to coffee and cold brew, Verve offers colorful flights of Juice Served Here and vegan pastries by Erin McKenna. The coffee shop even made our list in Chicago, if you’re curious about our favorite drink to order there.

We’re swooning over Bardonna. I mean, just look at the décor and these photogenic pink cushions. The restaurant—which offers organic coffee, tea, and a menu replete with toast like ricotta or mushroom, avocado halves topped with poached egg, and organic chicken bowl with turmeric brown rice, avocado, kale, hen-of-the-wood mushrooms, sprouts, and a fried egg—recently opened a fourth location in Brentwood.

Portland-born coffee company Stumptown has one California location in downtown’s Arts District. The industrial space—picture concrete floors, a truss ceiling, and brick walls—is not only a café serving espressos, and pour-overs but also a roastery and training facility.
806 S. Sante Fe, DTLA
Also located in DTLA’s Art District is the café-meets–bicycle store Wheelhouse. The massive two-story industrial space sells bike gear, repairs bicycles, and brews delicious drinks by Olympia Coffee Roasting Company and August Uncommon Tea. This location serves Pressed Juicery and Venice-based Superba Food & Bread. The concrete walls with the library-worthy book shelves are just waiting for your iPhone to capture them.

Paramount Coffee Project
Aussie coffee shop Paramount has one location in Los Angeles and another in Sydney. In addition to specialty coffee drinks like espresso spritzer and a spiced rum and caramel latte, the café serves an all-day menu of food items including a superfood bowl, protein breakfast, and Instagram-favorite avocado on toast. But aside from its Down Under cuisine, green tiles make for a fabulous backdrop when shooting food flat lays, and the interior feels very fresh, inviting, and cool, much like our Aussie friends.

Blue Bottle Coffee
Blue Bottle’s signature blue straws are all over Instagram, and the minimally adorned coffee shop has eight locations throughout L.A. If you haven’t already, try the New Orleans–style iced coffee (which is also available in a carton). For even more variety, the Bay Area–based coffee roaster sells cold brew in a can too. But who wouldn't want to just hang out in this interior? It has major loft vibes with the exposed brick wall.

Have this thing with floors? Check out Intelligentsia in Silver Lake. The French-roast coffee bar has Moroccanesque bright blue tiles (perfect for an SOTD shot), and ample outdoor seating. In addition to the Sunset Boulevard location are two more L.A. spots: in Venice (tucked away on Abbot Kinney) and another in Pasadena.

Go Get Em Tiger
Larchmont Village coffee bar Go Get Em Tiger is a neighborhood favorite. Try a specialty drink like the iced almond macadamia latte, or have the turmeric almond macadamia with one of the location’s brunch menu offerings, which include the picture-perfect waffle with berries, ricotta, and honey. Type its hashtag into Instagram and the spaceman is a popular photo op. We also love the bright pop of blue in the wall-lined sofa.
230 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles
Choose from live-edge wood tables, a brick façade, white tiled floors, or the turquoise La Marzocco espresso machine as the backdrop for your Instagram shot. The Venice spot was recently visited by the blogger behind With Love From Kat as well as New York transplant Kat Tanita. Yeastie Boys Bagels and Egg Slut also frequent Menotti’s.
