Crowning an island the best in Europe might seem like a tall order, but that's exactly what the Travel+Leisure team set out to do with its annual World's Best Awards survey. The results from thousands of votes are in, and one country has emerged as a clear favorite among travelers for 2018.
Greece took out six of the 10 best islands in Europe this year. Among popular destinations like Mykonos and Santorini, there were a few lesser-known gems. Paros, a boating hub in the Cyclades known for its pristine beaches and traditional villages was awarded the number one spot as the best island in Europe. Coming in at number two are the Orkney Islands, an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Scotland.
