Quality bedding is a splurge-worthy investment, especially considering that most of us spend eight hours a day curled up in our beds. Luxury sheets made with the best materials and expert craftsmanship can make that precious time even more comfortable and rejuvenating.
Sure, these high-end linens are sumptuously soft and cozy, but they’re also well-made, meaning they won't get scratchy or tear after a year. In fact, they should last through many years of use (and wash cycles). A set of luxury sheets might last two or three times longer than a cheaper set, so even though you'll need to spend more right off the bat, you'll save in the long run.
Here, the best luxury sheets.
Best Overall: Parachute Brushed Cotton Sheet Set
These brushed cotton sheets put the luxe in luxury. They’re crafted from 100 percent cotton in a plain weave, which has been brushed and garment-washed for a supremely soft, almost T-shirt-like feel that you’ll want to snuggle up with ASAP. These sheets are made in a family-owned factory in Portugal, and are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, so you can be sure they're free of any harmful chemicals or dyes.
Each set includes a fitted sheet, two pillowcases, and optional top sheet. The pillowcases have an envelope closure to keep your pillow securely in place, and they're currently available in five colors to match your bedroom décor.
Best Budget: Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheet Set
If smooth, buttery sheets are your preferred choice, you’ll love Brooklinen's popular Luxe Sheets, which have a delicious sateen weave. They’re made from 100 percent long-staple cotton with a 480-thread count, and are complete with an ever-so-slightly luminous finish for an added touch of luxury.
The Core Sheet Set comes with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillowcases, and there are seven core colors and patterns to choose from. Plus, keep an eye out, as the brand releases limited-edition colors and prints on a regular basis, so there's always a new style to look forward to.
Best Percale: Snowe Percale Sheet Set
For those who prefer sheets with a crisp, hotel-like feel, Snowe's Percale Sheets are the way to go. They're made from 100 percent long-staple cotton that’s been milled and finished in Italy, and are complete with a thread count of 500 for a lightweight, breathable feel—perfect for summertime or anyone who tends to sleep hot.
The set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases, and is available in five subtle hues that are sure to match any bedding you already own. These sheets are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and are generously-sized to fit deeper mattresses.
Best Sateen: Sferra Fiona Sheets
Sateen sheets are the best of both worlds—they’re not quite as sleek as silk linens, but they’re heavier and smoother than percale. The sheets in the Fiona Collection are made in Italy from 100 percent long-staple cotton with a silky-soft hand, and are complete with hemstitching for a sophisticated final touch.
Take note that the pieces are sold separately, so you can mix and match to create a set that suits your sleep preferences. You'll have your choice of seven delicate, muted colors, plus matching shams and duvet covers if you want a perfectly coordinated bed.
Best Linen: Linoto Linen Sheet Set
Linoto Linen Sheets may very well change your life—they’re that amazing. The linen is sourced from the best mills in Italy and Belgium and woven into artisan-quality sheets that will last for years if cared for properly. The sheets are pre-washed for a soft feel, and they’ll only get softer as you continue to wash them.
Oh, and did we mention that they come in dozens of beautiful colors? You even get the option to have an extra-deep mattress pocket on the fitted sheet and either envelope or back closures on the pillowcases.

Silk sheets are often viewed as the epitome of luxury, and you’ll feel like royalty sleeping in these linens from Mulberry Park Silks. The sheets are made from 100 percent pure Mulberry silk Charmeuse, which is naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to allergens. The sheets are also OEKO-TEX certified, meaning they’re free of harmful chemicals.

These sheets have a silky smooth sateen weave, and each set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheet has a deep pocket that fits mattresses up to 20 inches, and the linens are available in a variety of pretty colors, including several striped options.
Best Eucalyptus: Buffy Eucalyptus Sheet Set
Another earth-friendly option is the Buffy Eucalyptus Sheet Set, which is made from eucalyptus fabric that’s more breathable than cotton and softer than linen. The fiber uses 10 times less water than cotton during manufacturing, and the sheets are even colored with plant-based, all-natural dye.
These sheets are naturally resistant to dust mites, and mold, and they have a super-soft 300 single-ply thread count. The four-piece set comes in six pretty colors, but the brand warns the hues may fade if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods.
What Editors Say
"To be honest, I never thought much about my sheets in the past—I'd just grab whatever set was on sale in a color I liked. That is, until I actually branched out. Buffy's Eucalyptus sheets are truly the best sheets I've ever slept on. They're cool to the touch, smooth but not slippery, and still have a crisp look to them when my bed is made. I'm never looking back." — Bridget Mallon, Associate Editorial Director

What to Look for in Luxury Sheets
There are a number of different fibers used to make luxury sheets, all of which offer different benefits. Cotton is arguably the most popular choice, as it’s soft, durable, and relatively affordable. However, you’ll likely come across different types of cotton as you shop—Egyptian and Turkish cotton are often considered the best, but any long-staple cotton will perform well.
Other popular fibers include linen, which is great in terms of durability but can be a bit rough at first. It usually softens up after several cycles through the washing machine. You may also see luxury sheets made from bamboo, which is silkier than cotton and more eco-friendly to produce.
Sheets can be made from different types of woven fabric, most commonly sateen and percale. A sateen weave produces a smooth, almost shiny fabric that’s often described as “buttery” soft, while percale weaves result in a crisper material that offers better breathability. These are the two most popular fabric constructions used for bed linens, and you may want to test out each one to determine which you prefer.
Thread count refers to the number of threads in one square inch of fabric, and while many people believe sheets with high thread counts are inherently better quality, this simply isn’t true. Many luxury sheets have a thread count of 250 to 500, and you’ll find that these linens can be even more comfortable and indulgent than sheets with a thread count of 800 (or more). So while you may want to consider thread count when comparing your options, it shouldn’t take priority over the fiber and construction of the sheets.
