Home is the place where most of us seek comfort from the outside world, and if there’s one cozy area that deserves extra attention, it’s the bedroom—these gorgeous boudoirs make IKEA look chic. It’s a place where we can find privacy, where we rest when we’re sick, and where many of us binge-watch our favorite shows or get lost in a riveting read. So how do we make sure that this sacred space looks its best?
We look to our favorite influencers for guidance, of course. From Nina Dobrev’s Cali-cool aesthetic to Constance Zimmer’s eclectic taste, we’ve toured some of the chicest celeb bedrooms over the years, and they continue to inspire us. Ready to redecorate your sleep sanctuary? Keep reading for drool-worthy bedroom inspiration and the items you need to capture the essence of your favorite look.
Is your bedroom screaming for a makeover? “I gravitate toward open, spacious homes,” actress Nina Dobrev told us last December. “Light and bright is my favorite aesthetic.” If you’re looking to create a bright white space but cannot afford a full remodel, fear not. You can easily capture Dobrev’s chic vibe by simply repainting, if you don’t already have white walls, and then decorating your space with similar statement pieces. An animal skull mounted on the wall is not for everyone, but it sure is chic.
Add a cozy gray throw into the scenario, and top it all off with a modern chandelier.
We visited Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman’s residence in March 2015 and instantly fell for his (and wife Marie Goble’s) strong artistic sense. On the verge of a refresh, and craving a light and airy space? Look no further than this cozy, contemporary room for inspiration, and amp up the volume with oversize sconces. A colorful ottoman or two will add a touch of elegance, and when combined with a rock ’n’ roll–inspired metallic hand figure, these standouts produce the ultimate balance of edgy and chic.
If you appreciate the art of vintage, there’s no doubt you’ll feel at home in Constance Zimmer’s cozy headquarters. The UnReal actress welcomed us into her Los Angeles pad last June, and of her bedroom, she told us, “I love old suitcases and how they evoke the sense of a life lived. We had several throughout the house and no nightstand on one side of our bed, so I grabbed a few that worked together and stacked them, which immediately made the room feel cozy and warm.” Add an antique wood nightstand and Southwestern-style blanket into the mix and you’ll be living like Zimmer in no time.
Fancy a throw with a little attitude? We’ll take some sassy wordplay on our pillows any day of the week! Pretty Little Liars actor Ian Harding’s rustic canyon hideaway is nothing short of charming and stylish. If you love wood accents and a touch of shabby chic, this is a space you’ll want to emulate with some of the following items.
Last year, we paid a visit to Bones star Michaela Conlin’s eclectic L.A. home and immediately felt a sense of relaxation upon entering her room. The lush white-and-cream color palette is both inviting and warm, while metallic touches such as the mini lamps and gold-leaf wall art add a little pizzazz—the perfect complement to Conlin’s colorful chevron throw.
Do you have plans to redecorate your bedroom? Which of these spaces most strongly reflect your personal taste?
