The start of a new year is always great for planning; there's so much to see and do, and each January signifies the time to make things happen. Although it's the dead of winter and the last thing on your mind may be booking a trip to an icy location, a special travel deal may just change your mind. Wow Air is having a sale that will let you book a one-way flight to Reykjavik, Iceland, from the U.S. for as little as $100, Thrillist reports.

Snag cheap flights from cities like New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Chicago for just $100. If you live on the West Coast, you can also get in on the savings, though flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco will run you $130.

The sale will last the entire year, so you have plenty of time to plan your trip. This means you also have the luxury of booking during the warmer months of the summer to experience the lush green landscape the island has to offer during this time of year (not to mention a midnight sun and the northern lights).

Before you book, be sure to read the fine print, as budget airlines like Wow Air tend to have hidden fees for things like luggage and seat assignments. Wow Air charges $40 for a carry-on and $50 for a checked bag. However, if you pack light and plan in advance, you'll still walk away with an affordable vacation for the new year to a bucket-list-worthy location.
