Chloe Lonsdale: Perfectly Worn

Meet Chloe Lonsdale, the mastermind behind MiH, the London-based denim brand known for its sleek silhouettes, clean lines, and flattering fits. Jeans are a family tradition of sorts for Lonsdale, the Brit relaunched the brand-which was originally founded in 1969 by her godfather, Tony O'Gorman-in 2005, bringing some of the most iconic cuts into the 21st century. So it should come as no surprise that the woman so well-versed in the world of denim would have a home as equally classic as the ultimate wardrobe staple. Big on neutrals with splashes of color and prints thrown in to liven things up, Lonsdale's Notting Hill home is the jeans and white tee of home décor: stylish, put-together, and timeless in its simplicity. Below, MiH's Creative Director shares five essentials that will flatter any home, regardless of shape, height, size, or style: 01
MIH-02 When I bought my first apartment I saw these 1930s leather club chairs in my favorite antique interiors store. They are incredibly comfortable, fit in with almost any home décor style, and have a real story to tell. In parts the leather is faded and worn, but like a great pair of jeans, that's part of their character and I send them off to be repaired every once in a while. Pair of French Deco Leather Club Chairs, $7200, 1st Dibs
MIH-01 When we moved into our current home we just had one little boy--now we have three kids! The bath is big enough to fit the whole family--it's handmade in England and imperfect in its finish, yet polished and slightly decadent at the same time. It's so deep and has wonderful rolled edges at the top for resting your head - it's about style and substance in equal measure! Dorset Cast Iron Bateau Tub, $3996, Signature Hardware
MIH-04 My preference is for neutrals--I need my home environment to be calm, but I never want it to feel cold. I chose three hues for the color palette--off-white, taupe and blue/gray--and centered most of the key elements around that. For balance, I brought warmth into the space with lots of natural texture - Jute rugs, antique wood, white cotton sheets, old hessian runners on the stairwells, and brick floors. Egyptian Cotton Bed Linen, from $33, The White Company
MIH-03 They deliver a softer light and create a nice atmosphere. I favor old factory lamps that are deep and often made from lovely distressed metal like the ones in my kitchen. Hanging Pendant Lamp, $149, Wisteria
MIH-05 My Svenskt Tenn Chaise Lounge is something I just love to look at -the fabric is so beautiful that it makes me smile. I found the chaise in a vintage market and knew it was destined to come to life again with this playful fabric. It's the same thing with the old black and white tiles in my hallway-they've been there for over 100 years and just give the extra flourish of fun and detail that a neutral interior needs. Textile Rox & Fix, $172 per meter, Svenskt Tenn
